Cesium at Unreal Fest 2023

Today, Cesium is excited to join developers, creators, and our friends at Epic Games for Unreal Fest 2023 in New Orleans, LA.

If you’re at Unreal Fest, don’t miss the panel discussion on October 3, "The World is Your Canvas: 3D Global-Scale Real or Imaginary Worlds - 2023 Update" at 2-3 PM CT.

Cesium CEO Patrick Cozzi will join Alban Bergeret (Epic Games), Kevin Bullock (Maxar), Rex Hansen (Esri), Scott Simmons (OGC), Hannes Walter (Blackshark AI), and Sacha Leprêtre (CAE). Together these experts in 3D geospatial data will share their experience and visions of what’s possible with Unreal Engine.

If you can’t make it to the conference, join us in celebrating the amazing projects we’ve seen so far combining the power of Cesium, Unreal Engine, and Photorealistic 3D Tiles from Google Maps Platform.

In the video below, we explore what would happen if Habitat 67, one of Montreal’s most important buildings, was placed in San Diego.

Cesium collaborated with Epic to demonstrate how Unreal Engine, Cesium, and Google’s Photorealistic 3D Tiles rapidly enable realistic, real-time visualization and simulation.

Available as 3D Tiles, the OGC open standard created by Cesium, Google’s data covers over 2,500 cites and 49 countries. Using Unreal Engine, users can add and interact with massive models, add procedural content like trees and foliage, simulate traffic activity, and more. Thanks to open source Cesium for Unreal, users can orient their projects in precise geospatial context, enabling the creation of city-scale digital twins for use across industries.

Cesium for Unreal v2.0 is coming soon! Keep an eye on the community forum for the announcement of a Preview release.
