Cesium Release Roundup December 2020

In November, Bentley Systems’ iTwin Service for infrastructure digital twins became the latest platform to integrate with Cesium ion. Cesium’s Omar Shehata joined the iTwins Developer Conference to speak about the integration on November 5.

We sponsored a Geoawesomeness Digital Meetup to discuss 3D Data for Digital Transformation with our friends from Komatsu, DroneDeploy, and Wingtra.

Cesium was named a 2020 Red Herring Top 100 North America Winner.

We announced that you can now convert OGC CDB datasets to 3D Tiles with the CDB to 3D Tiles pipeline.

And Project Anywhere, a collaboration between Cesium, Epic Games, Microsoft, and NVIDIA made its debut at vIITSEC. The proof-of-concept demo shows our high-fidelity, full-scale WGS84 globe being streamed into Unreal Engine as 3D Tiles.

CesiumJS 1.76 release

CesiumJS 1.76 is now available. This release includes performance improvements for 3D Tiles styling and various fixes for TypeScript definitions.

Watch out for improved terrain visualization in the near future, including a new Elevation Band Material.

See the changelog for a full list of updates and links to the discussion & code on each one.
