Nokia SI Suite: A Platform for Advanced Analytics Applications

Nokia Enterprise, Analytics & IoT (former SpaceTime Insight) includes Cesium as an integral part of the SI Suite platform. Companies in asset-intensive industries such as utilities and transportation deploy SI Suite to manage and optimize their assets. One of the prominent features in the analytics framework is the CesiumJS-based map window. The window supports multiple base map providers and a large set of visualization features to portray both 2D and 3D data, as shown in the screenshots.

SI Suite includes a Java/Tomcat-based server infrastructure (SI Suite Server), an HTML5-based application viewer framework (SI Suite Viewer), and a complete Eclipse-based application development environment (SI Suite Studio). Studio applies a visual programming paradigm to make it intuitive to create visual/analytics applications, including map visualization using Cesium.

Previous versions of SI Suite supported the Google Earth API and browser plugin, but due to Google’s retirement of both, CesiumJS was selected as the most visually compatible 3D map framework, ensuring a smooth transition for customers. The open source nature of CesiumJS also provides unlimited options to explore extensions to or integration with core Cesium as required.
