Powder Globe Shows Skiers the Snow Base and Recent Snowfall at Resorts around the World

Powder Globe, developed by MountainYahoos.com, is a tool for viewing ski resorts around the world. The dynamic, virtual 3D globe built on Cesium can be easily rotated and scaled and is also mobile friendly.

Skiers and snowboarders can view bar plots representing the depth of the snow base, the amount of new fallen snow in the last 24 hours, or snowfall for the whole previous week. Bars represent snowfall, and users can select a bar to view snow depth values. Users can select the blue icons to view information about the resort and to view the resort guides. Powder Globe “layers” can be turned on to show aerial imagery, roads, and highways to help users plan their trips.
